The BHCSC, as part of our club’s purpose, offers annual awards in October for the club’s “award year” (August 1, 2016 - July 31, 2017). Members who’s basset hounds have earned a new AKC Championship or title during this period receive certificates and medallions for their dogs’ accomplishment.

Another very special award, Rookie of the Year, is presented annually at this event. The BHCSC Board of Directors selects one or more members for Rookie of the Year. This award goes to someone who has shown exceptional promise in handling a basset hound in the show ring and is very new to going into the show ring.
